Digital Archaeology of the Red Capital: Deep Scan of the Central Abstract Ruijin, a small town on the southeastern border of Jiangxi, became the revolutionary heart of China between 1931 and 1934. Based on the Ruijin County Gazetteer and Gazetteer of Jiangxi Soviet Areas, this article reconstructs the 1,000+ days of the Provisional Central Government of the Chinese Soviet Republic. Key data points include the convening of the First National Soviet Congress on November 7, 1931, an administrative map covering 21 county seats, a mobilization force of 49,000 local troops, and 11 People’s Commissariats.
